Xi'an Tours & Travel Guide
The ancient capital at the Silk Road's eastern end — home to the Terracotta Army, a complete Ming city wall, and China's great noodle culture.
Why visit Xi'an
Beijing is China's capital of the last 700 years; Xi'an held the job for a thousand before that. The Terracotta Army alone justifies the trip — but the wall, the Muslim Quarter and the noodles are why people leave wishing they'd stayed longer.
Top sights
Terracotta Warriors
8,000 life-size soldiers, no two faces alike, guarding an emperor for 2,200 years. The scale only lands in person.
Ming city wall
China's most complete city wall — cycle the full 14 km loop at sunset.
Muslim Quarter
A food walk, not a sight: lamb skewers, biangbiang noodles, roujiamo burgers, pomegranate juice.
Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Tang-dynasty landmark of the Silk Road's Buddhist traffic — pair it with the Shaanxi History Museum.
Sample itinerary — 2 days in Xi'an
This is a sample itinerary, so you can see what each day actually looks like — the scenery, the meals and where you sleep. On a private trip the order and pace are adjusted to your dates; your confirmed day-by-day plan, with named hotels, comes with your quote.
- Day 1
City wall at sunset & the Muslim Quarter
Arrive and settle in, then up onto the Ming city wall as the light softens — China's most complete wall, cycled or walked at golden hour. Down into the Muslim Quarter for the evening: lamb skewers, roujiamo burgers, biangbiang noodles and pomegranate juice, grazed stall by stall.

- Day 2
Terracotta Warriors & departure
Out to the Warriors early, before the worst of the crush: the three pits and the bronze chariots, with time to study the individual faces — no two alike. If your departure is late, the afternoon adds the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Shaanxi History Museum. Transfer to the station or airport.

How many days?
Two days is right: Warriors one morning, wall and food quarter the next. Xi'an is the middle stop of the Golden Triangle, Classic China and Grand Tour.
Getting there & around
High-speed trains: Beijing ~4.5 hours, Chengdu ~3–4 hours, Shanghai ~6 hours — see the train guide. The Warriors sit about an hour east of the city; a car and driver makes it painless.
Best time to visit
Spring and autumn. Summer is hot in the pits' hangars; winter is quiet and cold but crowd-free.
Xi'an FAQ
How long does the Terracotta Army take?
About 3 hours on site with a guide. Go early; the pits are busiest mid-morning.
Can I skip Xi'an to save time?
You can — but we'd cut almost anything else first. There is no second Terracotta Army.
